CBFF is pleased to announce our chosen charity for this year’s festival, Neuroendocrine Cancer UK (NCUK) and we would like to thank the Mayor of Llanelli, Nick Pearce, for proposing NCUK and bringing this important subject to the attention of us all.
NCUK dedicated to providing support, information and resourcesto anyone affected by neuroendocrine cancer.
A diagnosis of cancer is one of the greatest challenges anyone can face. Being diagnosed with a rare or uncommon cancer can have additional consequences, not least in terms of lack of awareness, delayed diagnosis andaccess to expertise.
NeuroendocrineCancer UK exists to address the unmet needs voiced by the neuroendocrine cancer community, and to support patients and their loved ones with the physical and psychological burden of neuroendocrine cancers. Their vision is of a world in which people know how to recognise, diagnose, treat, care for and ultimately cure patients with neuroendocrine cancer.
They support all those affected by neuroendocrine cancer by:
· supporting patients and their loved ones
· addressing public perceptions of neuroendocrine cancer through awareness and education work
· influencing optimal care through advocacy work.
You can find more information about them and the vital work they do through their website, www.neuroendocrinecancer.org.uk
